Course Objective:

The reason we, at Propel, decided to develop this course was because App Development is one field where even young teenagers could shine very brightly in a relatively shorter period of time. This fact is true till date. We find young boys and girls coming up with Android/IOS apps for various needs and utilities that we would have been subconsciously desperate for a very long period of time. It feels so nice when someone delivers the food we love right at our doorstep but we did not realize this until this idea was actually implemented.

The aim of this course is to make children learn the complete idea involved in development of an app, identify the types of apps available in the market, label the major parts of an app and understand how the components and blocks work and interact.

Course Outcome:

After the completion of this course, children will be able to program apps for their own personal needs. Children of these times, get legendary ideas but are limited because of the skillset needed to execute those ideas. This course aims to equip them with exactly that!

This course bridges the gap between ideas and execution for young children so that they could turn their thoughts into something real.

Course Description:

The course will provide hands-on experience in developing cool Android applications from scratch. No prior experience in programming is needed. The course is suitable for students with any level of computing experience. The course content is designed by keeping ‘MIT App Inventor’ as the main platform for creating apps. It is a Block-Based Programming Tool that allows even novices, to start programming and build fully functional apps for Android devices. Students are encouraged to use their own Android devices for hands-on testing and exploration.
